Do we make administering anesthesia look too easy? Determining the value of administration of anesthesia is essential in understanding healthcare economics in practice, negotiations, lobbying and public awareness of CRNAs. More than an academic exercise, this lecture will prepare the clinician to negotiate an employment contract or leaders to promote the profession on value-based parameters.

Ms. Mannino has had a long and varied career in nurse anesthesiology, including education, business owner, clinician, author, lecturer and consultant. She is a former AANA president and has served on multiple committees and advisory panels, including with the FDA Anesthesia Devices Panel. She was the lead negotiator on the Medicare Direct Reimbursement team that obtained parity with physicians on the Medicare Fee Schedule. She currently is chairman of the AANA Reimbursement Policy Advisory Group.
