This course will discuss implementing the AACN Essentials changes, which will add additional burden to nurse anesthesia program administrators and faculty. A guide to make graduate DEI curriculum implementation accessible, robust, and successful is paramount. This course introduces CRNA faculty to the new Essentials and provides a basis for their inclusion in CRNA program curriculum.

The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

AANA is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP #10862.

Dr. Courtney Brown is the Associate Director for Didactic Education and Assistant Professor at the Wake Forest Nurse Anesthesia Program. She serves as a Director of Peer Support Services for the Wake Forest Health System. She is a pioneer in the effort to improve healthcare diversity and inclusion within nurse anesthesia, and presented the first Goldie B. Brangman Diversity and Inclusion Lecture at the AANA Congress in 2018.
